The Turkish State Commission on Energy refused to assist to companies, intending to supply electric energy from Armenia to Turkey.

According to Turkish Hurriyet, the cause for the ban is Armenia's non-participation in the project of the Kars-Tbilisi-Baku railroad.
Earlier Armenia's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan announced that in 2009 Armenia will launch direct supplies of electric energy to Turkey.
He said the contract on export of electric energy from Armenia to Turkey via Kars was signed during the Yerevan visit of a delegation, led by Turkish President Abdullah Gul, which also included representatives of the UNIT private energy companies, engaged in import and distribution of high voltage energy in Turkey.
