I regard the immediate recognition of Kosovo as an obvious policy of double standards, existing in the world. It is even more obvious in the United States. As is seen, the countries, which are US allies or depend on the United States, were the first to recognize Kosovo.
The due announcement was made by independent Azerbaijan political scientist Oqtay Sadikhzade.
He said the Kosovo recognition will give additional arguments and even an impetus to the separatist movements on the post-Soviet area. He noted that despite differences between Kosovo and Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts, the Kosovo resolution will be proposed as a recipe or even a panacea for Nagorno Karabakh.
Sadikhzade also stressed that a certain agitation is possible between Russia, which does not recognize Kosovo, and the United States.
Commenting on the recognition of Kosovo by Turkey, he said Turkey has a similar conflict with the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus.
"Ankara decided to seek for dividends, like other countries did", he said and added that official Baku should not hurry with the resolution on Kosovo.
"Official Baku occupies a balanced position on the issue. Azerbaijan is now a key strategic partner of the United States, which is currently engaged in separating Armenia from Russia", he concluded.
