Ann Darcy: "We do hope that the current inspections in the Chap Evi printing house are ordinary ones"

The due announcement was made by US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ann Darcy, commenting on reporters' question regarding the situation with the Chap Evi printing house, Day.Az reports.

"We do hope that the current inspections in the Chap Evi printing house are ordinary ones.", she said.

At the same time, she noted that in her opinion the Chap Evi printing house is the only independent printing house in Azerbaijan, which creates conditions for publication of opposition and liberal press.

"I have also stressed that extra information is always better than its deficit. Availability of many independent printing houses would be good for Azerbaijan. This will, in turn, be a good stimulus for independent press, which is a basis of democracy", she noted.
