Cooperation between Moscow and Baku can help to sustain stability in the Caucasus and in the Caspian Sea region, the Russian president, Vladimir Putin told. "We highly appreciate our close and truly friendly ties with Azerbaijan," he said.

According to Trend, he emphasized that "it is important that our bilateral business and humanitarian cooperation is becoming more and successful, which is a valuable factor of stability in the region."

"The will of our nations to foster a closer cooperation is seen in the implementation of the Azerbaijani year in Russia," he added, ensuring that this trait will be continued by the Russian Year in Azerbaijan.

The Russian head of state has accepted the credentials of a new Azerbaijani ambassador in Moscow, Polad Bul-Bul oglu on April 13.
