"The issue of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations will be discussed at the next meeting of EU foreign ministers on November 13."

According to Azernews, this was announced by the European Commission.

It was noted that, due to a lack of time, it was not possible to discuss the Armenian-Azerbaijani issue at yesterday's meeting of the EU foreign ministers, and it was postponed. Therefore, this issue should be put on the agenda of the next ministerial meeting.

The European Union welcomed the latest meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan as a positive step towards a durable peace agreement between the two neighboring states, which have fought two major wars in 30 years.

It is also important to recall that earlier this year, the European Parliament condemned Azerbaijan and wanted to impose sanctions.

The Parliament called the current situation with the flight of Armenians from "Nagorno-Karabakh" tantamount to "ethnic cleansing", which is voluntary in reality

"The EU should adopt targeted sanctions against Azerbaijani government officials responsible for violating the ceasefire and human rights in "Nagorno-Karabakh"."

"The EU should suspend any negotiations on the renewed partnership and the current energy memorandum with Baku."

"MEPs call on Turkey to rein in its ally Azerbaijan," said the latest session, where a majority spoke out and condemned Azerbaijan's just struggle.

The Parliament also calls on the EU to reduce its dependence on Azerbaijani gas imports and, in cases of military aggression or serious hybrid attacks against Armenia, to completely stop importing Azerbaijani oil and gas. At the same time, MEPs want to suspend the current Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Energy Partnership between the EU and Azerbaijan.

The resolution was adopted with 491 votes in favour, 9 against, and 36 abstentions.
