As APA reports, Keith Jinks stated that the visit of OSCE chairman-in-office Karel De Gucht to the region was of acquaintance character: "Being aware of the Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents' opinions were of importance for OSCE chairman. This was a short but fruitful visit. The main aim was to get acquainted with firsthand situation in the countries".
According to Keith Jinks, issue on stationing of peacekeepers in the region was not discussed during the visit of Karel De Gucht to the region. He stated that the opportunities for resolution of the problem had expanded after parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan and referendum on constitution reforms in Armenia, but it's necessary to work hard in order to achieve any result.
Saying negotiations were on the basis of step by step resolution principle, Keith Jinks stressed that obstacles still remained.
