12 November 2005 [18:20] - TODAY.AZ
Draft resolution is drawn up by the lower house of the US Congress banning the US financial assistance to the realization of Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalak-Gars railway project.

Member of Finance Commission of the House of Representatives Barney Frank also joined 50 congressmen drawing up the draft yesterday. He stated that the passing of the resolution #3361 will have a positive impact on the US-Armenia relations.

"The realization of the railway project which will not pass through Armenia is not right morally and it is not beneficial economically, in general. I am against the US sponsoring the project which is to pass through the territories of Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan," said Frank.

It must be noted that, the implementation of the railroad project was initiated by Ilham Aliyev and the total worth of the project equals to $800 millions.
