The Lord gave hair as decoration to a human beauty (Qabus nameh)
Long and shiny hair still appears at the top of every woman's beauty wish list.
Wonderfully thick and shimmering healthy hair always gives a good impression.
The outer layer of healthy hair contains natural oil to keep it moist and shiny. When this layer is damaged, your hair will look dull and unhealthy.
Illness, nutritional deficiencies, use of harsh hair care products, bad hair conditioner, frequent use of hair dyes, excessive stress, high mineral content in the water, chlorine in swimming pools and use of heating tools are some of the factors making your hair dull.
Soft and glossy hair takes a bit of effort, but the secret lies in proper hair care.
Feed your hair
Eating a variety of healthy foods will give you the mane you've always dreamed of. Dairy Products such as milk, yoghurt, cheese and other milk products, contain impressive levels of calcium and protein. Milk products contain protein and lipids, which strengthens your hair and the vitamins present in it will provide the required amount of essential oils to the scalp.
Oil massage
Have you ever noticed that Indian women have glowing skin and the shiniest hair? They put coconut oil into their hair for hours before they wash it again. This is like a mask. With this oil mask your hair will be protected and keep shining after you washed it out with a mild shampoo. You could also try it with olive oil.
Avoid chemicals
Most shampoos contain sulfates and other toxic chemicals which strip away your hair’s valuable natural oils. Moreover, they also contain numerous other toxic chemicals that wreak havoc on our hair and our health.Try to use natural sulfate free shampoo.
If you color, go natural
Hair dyes damage your hair, causing splits and breaks. Even some ‘natural’ dyes contain dangerous chemicals such as ammonia.
Stop using hot tools
Stop over-styling your hair. You can dry your hair the healthiest way possible.
First, let your hair dry naturally, about 70-80 percent of the way dry. Then, with your dryer on the coolest setting blow your hair dry, keeping the dryer about 6-inches away from hair at all times and moving it around continuously.
