Time magazine published a list of 15 buildings in the world, similar in appearance to the building as such. Flame Towers complex of buildings in the center of Baku was also included into the list of of ‘15 Buildings That Don’t Look Like Buildings’.
‘Azerbaijan — known as the Land of Fire because of its history of Zoroastrian fire worship — cast subtlety aside with the Flame Towers. The three structures, which opened in 2012, each rise 620 ft. (190 m) over Baku, the capital. At night their LED exteriors light up to depict flames, a waving Azerbaijani flag and other moving images. The towers house a Fairmont hotel, offices and a shopping center,’ the article reads.
The other buildings are Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, Indira Gandhi Planetarium in India, National Fisheries Development Board Building in India, Chang Building in Bangkok, Aldar Properties Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Longaberger Basket Company Home Office in Ohio, Tianzi Hotel in China, National Library of Belarus, Lotus Temple in New Delhi, Cross # Towers in Denmark, Fang Yuan Building in Shenyang, China, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, The Experience Music Project in Seattle and London Aquatics Centre.
