Yury Dolgoruky literature prize goes to Georgian and Azerbaijani writers

A group of Russian-speaking Azerbaijani and Georgian writers and poets have been awarded a Great Prince Yury Dolgoruky International Literature Prize.
The Azerbaijani winners included Georgia Zapletin, Gulnare Shirinzade, Huseynbala Miralamov and Elcin Isgandarzade, Ilham Hajiyev while Georgian awardees are Vladimir Sarishvili, Maria Fargi, Lyudmila Argvalidze and Nino Gogilishvili.

Opening the awarding ceremony here, representative of the Yury Dolgoruky International Cooperation Foundation`s Moscow Branch Anatoly Sorokin said the prize instituted six years ago has to date went to writers from Moldova, Ukraine and Baltic states.

Russian ambassador Dorokhin pointed out this award is an indicator of successful implementation of Russian language development state program. Attending the event were MPs Hady Rajabili, Mikhail Zabelin and others.
