Azerbaijani Culture Day held at German university

The Azerbaijani Culture Day was marked at the German University on December 22.

Being the venue of the event, the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena brought together students from different countries and inhabitants of the Thuringia province.

During the event, organizers of the meeting-- Thuringen Azerbaijani Students Association informed the guests about Azerbaijan, saying that the country, which is known around the world as a young country has long traditions of statehood.

The guests got acquainted with the presentations about Azerbaijan geography, culture and economy.

German student Pia Plappert featured a presentation on the sports development in the country. He underlined the importance of conducting international competitions including the 1st European Games, which will be held in Baku in summer 2015.

Pia also spoke about achievements of Azerbaijani football club “Qarabag”, noting as well the fact of occupation Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts by Armenia.

Following, the students presented the national dance.

The guests also had a chance to get various books by Azerbaijani authors as well as magazines, photos and national costumes.
