11 December 2012 [12:05] - TODAY.AZ
The French Embassy in Baku has hosted an exhibition marking the visit of director of the Department of Continental Europe of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Eric Fournier.

Entitled “Azerbaijan-the Land of Contrasts”, the exhibition is co-organized by the Bakou Francophones Association and the French Institute. The event featured photos taken by nine French speaking non-professional photographers working in Azerbaijan.

Speaking to the opening ceremony, French ambassador Pascal Meunier noted the works were selected out of 200 photos. He said the first art exhibition organized at the French Embassy was dedicated to Azerbaijani painter Ulviyya Hamzayeva. “We are planning to organize the next exhibition of works by young Azerbaijani and French artists at the French embassy next year,” he added.

The event brought together members of the French community in Azerbaijan, members of the general public, as well as Azeri Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov.
