11 million barrels of oil transported over BTC

The official inauguration of the pipeline was held on July 13, while the shipment began on June 4.

Deputy Director of the BOTA? BTC Project, Gokmen Chologlu, made a statement and noted that the work in BTC was underway without any problem.

Stating that 14 ships have arrived in the terminal to take crude oil to date, ??lo?lu said: "We have sent nearly 11 million barrels of crude oil to the world markets by 14 ships."

Chologlu indicated that the pipeline route was seriously followed in case of any burglaries and said: "The burglary attempts have been prevented to date."

Chairman of the Ceyhan Trade Chamber, Ali Duru, pointed out that the BTC has yielded no profits for the city economy up until now. Noting that they wanted the initiatives to be made for the arrival of the crew of the ships coming to the Heydar Aliyev Sea Terminal to the district, Duru said: "Our tradesmen are waiting for these initiatives. If the crews of the ships arrive in our district, Ceyhan will meet all their requirements."

Stressing that the people of Ceyhan were also expecting the construction of the shipyard in the Yumurtal?k Free Trade Zone as soon as possible, Duru said: "We wish that the shipyard will overcome the unemployment problem."

With the BTC Crude Oil Pipeline Project, the crude oil produced in Azerbaijan is transported to the sea terminal in Ceyhan over Georgia and then to the world markets by tankers. The BTC, which has a total length of 1,770 km including 1,070 km in Turkey, has a capacity for the transportation of one million barrels of oil daily and 50 million tons of oil annually to the world markets.
