3yr old boy stuck in washing machine, rescued by firefighters

A three-year-old boy was rescued from the drum of a washing machine after getting stuck inside while playing hide and seek with his mum. The boy, identified as Chaofan, was trapped for over an hour in the machine in Taiyuan, central Shanxi province, before being freed by emergency services.

According to his mother, he hid inside it only to find his legs tightly caught in the washing machine's drum.

Images from Chinese state broadcaster CCTV show Chaofan being rescued by firefighters who used a circular saw - inches away from his legs - to cut open the drum during an hour-long operation.

His mum can be seen comforting the frantic toddler during the delicate procedure, before cheers are heard as he emerges to her cuddles.
