President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in country's Gabala region on July 29.
The President started his trip by visiting a monument to the national leader in the Heydar Aliyev park. The park, whose total area is 2 hectares, got special irrigation system, modern benches and 4 new fountains. Large-scaled construction and land improvement work is underway in Gabala like in Azerbaijan's other regions. Several visits by the President to the region marked great positive changes and economic growth.
The region's overall production has seen a big increase since 2003, with the agricultural production more than doubling. Nearly 8,500 jobs have been created in the region since 2003.
***President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the Qafqaz
Riverside Hotel here. The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing
the opening of the facility, and then viewed it. The Head of State
was told the construction of the 5-star hotel started in August, 2008.
The
7-storied facility occupies a total area of 2,250 square meters, and
features main building and cottages. It has 123 rooms, restaurants,
three conference halls, a recreation center, Turkish bath, sauna,
several pools and a sports hall. The complex also features 38
cottages.
***President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev viewed new production shops at Gilan canning factory as part of his visit to Gabala. The facility, whose total area is 12 hectares, was inaugurated in 2007 with participation of the President. The factory manufactures nearly 100 types of products, including “Jale”, “Baghdan”, “Aycan” and “Zolotoy sad” juices.
The Head of State viewed some of the products. The factory is capable of processing 700,000 tons of fruits and producing 210,000 tons of juice per year. The factory's products are exported to more than 30 countries. The President watched the production process, and viewed a canning shop here.
