More medals on gymnastics comes from Turkey

Turkey’s city of Konya hosts the 5th International Rumi Children’s Sports Games from April 19 to 24.

Some 850 athletes from 23 countries are competing in 10 branches.

In the athleticism competition held on April 21-22 Azerbaijan was represented by men’s pre-junior gymnastics team.

The national gymnasts showed good results in the competition, bringing 5 medals including two gold, two silver and one bronze.

Samad Mammadli took two gold medals, gaining the highest points in floor exercise and exercise on horseback.

He also won a silver medal in parallel bars. The second silver came from Mansum Safarov, who was distinguished in floor exercise.

Azerbaijan took the third place in the team standings. Turkey became the first, while team from Bulgaria placed the second.
