Baku 2015 celebrates Novruz with 3D show

Baku 2015 joined the people of Azerbaijan in celebrating the spring equinox festival of Novruz with a series of sporting activities on the Boulevard in Baku, which ended with a spectacular 3D show on the Museum Center, one of the emblematic buildings of the city.

Thousands of Baku citizens joined the celebrations on a clear and sunny day, in which the families and young kids were able to learn about Baku 2015 sports and try them first-hand at the interactive demonstration stands.

Four different sports were featured per day on a rotating basis during the last three days, including demonstrations of cycling, triathlon, gymnastics, taekwondo and wrestling, all of them sports that will be showcased on the Baku 2015 European Games this June.

The public had also the chance of meeting the mascots, Nar the pomegranate and Jeyran the gazelle, who entertained the younger kids and posed with them for pictures.

The night continued with the performance of DJ Shock, one of the Baku 2015 Celebrity Ambassadors, in front of an audience that also was able to watch live competition of table tennis and wrestling, as well as demonstrations of some of the best BTT riders of beach soccer young players.

Hosted also by more than 100 Flamekeepers, the proud Baku 2015 Volunteers, the Baku 2015 Novruz celebrations ended with an amazing 3D projection show on the Museum Centre, showcasing sports and Novruz traditions and celebrating the launch of the online ticket sales.

Through 17 days of competition, over 6,000 sportsmen will represent 50 countries in 20 sports. The Games will take place in 21 stadia and facilities in Baku and Mingachevir city.
