National Karate fighters gain four medals in Holland

The Lotto Dutch Open Karate1 Premier League was held in Almere, Holland on February 14-15.

The two-day competition brought together 613 competitors from 51 countries.

Azerbaijani sportsmen gained four medals in the tournament.

Male karate fighter Shahin Atamov at 84 kg won the silver medal. In the final Shahin fought with German Horne Jonathan. But he gave way to the German fighter.

Female Karate fighter Shakhrun Yusifova at 50 kg also gained the silver medal. Her rival Plank Bettina from Austria, was slightly stronger, so Shakhrun took the second place.

Famous worldwide female national Karate fighter Rafael Agayev at 75 kg as well as Firdovsi Farzaliyev at 60 kg took the third place.

At the end, Azerbaijani team took the 11th place among 51 countries.
