Junior Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler claims European title

Azerbaijan`s Nurmahammad Hajiyev has won the European Junior Wrestling Championships as it entered its second day in the Polish city of Katowice.

Hajiyev climbed on to the winner`s rostrum after defeating Bulgarian, Moldovan, Ukrainian and Georgian wrestlers in the 84kg weight category.

In the 66kg class, Murad Suleymanov earned Azerbaijan silver after losing to a Georgian wrestler in the final bout.

On his way to final, Suleymanov emerged victorious over rivals from Romania, Greece, Belarus and Turkey.
