REAL MADRID president Florentino Perez has confirmed the signing of Manchester City target Isco from Malaga.
New City boss Manuel Pellegrini believed he could land the 21-year-old whizkid from his old club but the lure of Madrid proved too much.
Perez said: "There is an agreement with the club and the player. He will be presented next week after the medical."
After a turbulent three-year period under Jose Mourinho, Real are trying to win back the league title after Barcelona stormed it last year.
New boss Carlo Ancelotti has signed a three-year deal and the big-money signing of Isco is another statement of their intent.
The Italian said: "From what I have seen of him, it's clear he has a lot of quality.
"Spain's Under-21 side has a lot of great players and he is one of the best.
"He could get into any team in the world, so he could also play for Madrid."
Ancelotti's first job will be to keep hold of Cristiano Ronaldo who will be crucial if he is to bring the all-important Champions League trophy to the Bernabeu.
Real have also set their sights on landing Tottenham star Gareth Bale.
