Sports for European Olympic Games to be known in March

Preparations for the first European Games are in full swing here. The state of sport facilities built in 70s and 80s is being explored for future reconstruction, Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov told journalists.

The Minister noted the sports to be featured in the program of Olympic Games will be known on March 15-20. He added the program is expected to include two non-Olympic sports and the rest are Olympic ones.

Rahimov said the working group of the European Games Organizing Committee has formed, and foreign specialists were invited to this end.

The Minister said the construction of the state of the art swimming pool, Olympic stadium and gymnastics complex is going on in Baku.
Rahimov pointed out that construction of the Olympic village is not scheduled.
