Porto wins, Malaga keeps next round chance

João Moutinho rewarded his side's greater attacking prowess at the Estádio do Dragão with the only goal of a tight game 11 minutes after half-time.

FC Porto made their greater UEFA Champions League experience count against Málaga CF as João Moutinho scored the only goal of an intense and high-quality round of 16 match in Portugal.

Moutinho's beautifully conceived, and finished, strike just before the hour finally punctured the resolute defending of Manuel Pellegrini's Málaga, who will nevertheless feel they have a chance to turn things around in the return leg at La Rosaleda on 13 March.
