AFFA presents interview with FIFA President J. Blatter
- Now few months after the completion of FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup 2012 held in Azerbaijan, we would like to pick up your assessment of on the overall organisation of event. - As a first thing this was a historical event in terms of holding a first ever FIFA Women’s competition in a Muslim country and this is so important in development of women’s football in all of the cultures of the world.
Secondly the organisation was just perfect. The stadium were built as promised. It was a wonderful event.
And they are ready in Baku in Azerbaijan to go for another FIFA competiotion they are organizing European games in 2015 and build stadium so I think Azerbaijan is in the right track.
Coming back to U17, also we have seen the attractive singers coming in . They put together football and culture and this is actually what the football is Football is culture and part of the society.
I can only congratulate the country and specifically football. I also have to give my respect and friendship to the head of state Ilham Aliyev.
- Given the successful organisation of previous FIFA event, do you think that Azerbaijan would be entitled to conduct future international competitions? Absolutely, yes. I just invited the Federation to immediately write a letter to FIFA to say they are candidates to men football the under U17 and u20 and whatever competitions are available on the FIFA calendar it is also a beach soccer indoor and all is open.
And we know now that if it go to Azerbaijan it is a perfect organisation and its go for FIFA to know that we have an organizers somewhere, not only somewhere, but in a very important part of our world where is in clash of the cultures.
You know historically Azerbajan is really in the middle in the melting of cultures. It is good for football because the football is for everybody.
