Azerbaijan defines best of 2011

The Buta Palace hosted traditional sporting event, where the Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Ministry announced the heroes of 2011, azerisport.com. Speaking at the event, Minister Rahimov noted the main achievements of the Azerbaijani sport in 2011.

The top ten sportsmen of 2011 were boxer Mahammadrasul Majidov, canoeist Valentin Demyanenko,  wrestler Rovshan Bayramov,  Maria Stadnik, boxer Teymur Mammadov, wrestler Sharif Sharifov, gymnast Aliya Garayeva, weightlifter Valentin Hristov, judo fighter Ilgar Mushkiyev and taekwondo fighter Ramin Azizov.
 
Rabita volleyball club become the best team of 2011, Boxing Federation - the best federation and  Hijran Sharifov – the best trainer. The Equestrian Federation was announced the best sports organization and Alekper Jafarov - the most active veteran, Ajdar Jafarov and  Vahid Nazarov – the best referee.
 
The best children's school was the school No.16. The best journalists of the year become Rovshan Binnetli (Lider) and channel Space.
