The fire which took place in the timberland of Shahdag National Park in Gabala has been taken under control.

The fire in the forest between Gabala’s Tikanli and Solgica villages have been continuing for 8 days, Region’s State Fire Protection Service said.
It was impossible to use equipments for extinguishing the fire recorded in the mountainous terrain situated above 1500 m sea-level. Only hand work was used in the territory. One helicopter was also used for extinguishing the fire. The flame was prevented and the fire was limited in the evening yesterday, and now there are works for extinguishing seat of fire.
About 80 employees of North-West Regional Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, region’s Fire Protection Service, Forest Protection and Restoration work at the site. The trees, dry leaves, bushes had been burnt at the territory about 10 hectares.
