Ship navigating from St Petersburg to Azerbaijan collides with bridge

A motor vessel, navigating from St Petersburg, Russia to Azerbaijan struck against the pier of Volodarsky Bridge in St Petersburg. 11-member crew was on board of “Glory” owned by St-Petersburg-based Baltcherflot Company. The motor vessel carrying cargo containers got out the control while navigating under the bridge and collided with the pier.

Reportedly, none of the crew members were injured. The vessel’s navigation equipment and rear element were damaged as a result of accident. It didn’t cause fuel spill and didn’t’ breach navigation schedule of the ships. The bridge was not damaged seriously. The incident is being investigated.
