An international conference has been co-organized in Manila by the Asian Ombudsman Association and Philippine Ombudsperson with support of the Asian Development Bank.

The conference brings together heads of various ombudsman and accountability institutions of Asia, academic scholars and representatives of non-government organizations to discuss the various factors related to the independence, accountability, accessibility and mandate of the ombudsman.
This conference presents the highlights of 5 cross country studies and a Pakistan specific study on various aspects of ombudsmanship in Asia.
At the end of the conference, participants will be requested to identify and adopt basic best practice principles to guide Asian Ombudsman Institutions in the performance of their functions.
