Baku State University's rector meets Oklahoma National Guard Chief Commander

Rector of Baku State University, MP Abel Maharramov met Oklahoma National Guard Chief Commander, Major General Myles Deering on Aug. 12. The talks focused on the ongoing educational programs between BSU and universities of Oklahoma. Maharramov briefed Deering on the University's activity, particularly international relations. He said BSU cooperates with some higher educational institutions of the United States.

He expressed confidence that Deering's visit would contribute to establishing relations with the University of Oklahoma. The rector also briefed Deering on the ongoing educational reforms in the country. He said Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev places special emphasis on development of science and education.

Deering, in turn, said the purpose of his visit was to discuss cooperation between the Oklahoma National Guard and Azerbaijan. He underlined the importance of establishing educational cooperation between Azerbaijan and Oklahoma.
