15 October 2009 [15:50] - TODAY.AZ
Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade received First Vice President of Iran Rahim Mashaie on Oct. 15.
Pashazadeh underlined the friendship of Iranian and Azerbaijani peoples.

“Iran’s protecting its independence is an example for us. We believe that Iran will do its best to enure Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. There are forces that do not want us to be friends. But many values unite us,” Sheikh-ul-Islam said.

Pashazadeh presented the portrait depicting Baku's Old City to the guest.

“Every state has its heart. Our heart is Old City,” he said.

Mashaie said Azerbaijan and Iran have common faith and history. He said both countries have great opportunities to strengthen
cooperation.

“Iran supports independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijani people. Big states do not think about the interests of small nations, they think only about themselves,” he said.
