Azerbaijani seaman on board of Turkish vessel on Indian coast hospitalized

Azerbaijani embassy in India everyday contacts the Azerbaijanis on board the Turkish vessel detained in India, political attaché of Azerbaijani embassy in India Habib Mammadov said.
Mammadov confirmed media reports that one of the Azerbaijanis Anar Mehdiyev had been hospitalized. He noted that Mehdiyev did not have serious disease.

“Anar Mehdiyev had stomach upset. There is nothing serious, it may be connected with climate changes. Mehdiyev refused to go to hospital, he took medicine and felt well. But we insisted on taking him to hospital,” he said.

The vessel owned by Turkey-based ECE A Tanker Group was detained in India. There are 10 Turkish citizens, 1 Georgian and 5 Azerbaijanis on board.

According to Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry the Azerbaijanis, who are on board the vessel, can leave it any time they want. But they are waiting for their salaries and passports.
