Four suffer snakebite in Azerbaijan

17 June 2009 [09:40] - TODAY.AZ
Four men suffered from snakebite in Azerbaijan in May-June of 2009, said Azer Maxudov, doctor of the toxicological department of Nagiyev's hospital.
He said three of them live in different villages of Abshen and one in Barda.

"Their life is not threatened, as after receiving medical aid they were released home. Snake aggressiveness is mostly connected with hot weather, but their activeness is so far not recorded due to relatively colder conditions", noted Maxudov.

Maxudov said cases of snakebite are mostly fixed in Aran area, Yevlakh, Barda, Lenkoran, Astara, Ismayilli and Gabala regions.

Notably, 63 people suffered snakebite in 2008 and 47 in 2007.
