Human Rights activist monitors police offices in Azerbaijan

Chief of Azerbaijani Committee against Torture Elchin behbudov has today monitored detention facilities of police offices in Hajigabul, Kurdemir and Ujar regions.
The Committee chief told APA that detention facilities of police offices in other regions would also be monitored. 21 police offices will be monitored.

The Human Rights Defender said the monitoring aimed at analyzing facts of torture in detention facilities and learn the situation in the detention facilities.

Behbudov said the monitoring would end the next day and he would appeal to Interior Minister Ramil Usubov in connection with its results. Elchin Behbudov noted that he would also visit jail No 2 of Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service in Ganja.
