Eynulla Fatullayev's father: "There is no hope for pardoning and release of my son"

The due announcement was made by a source from the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety.

According to journalist's father Emin Fatullayev, the journalist does not have any complaints about the detainment conditions and state of health.

"Last year PACE co-chairs Andres Herkel and Eugenia Zhivkova met with Eynulla Fatullayev", said journalist's father.

He noted that after this meeting they have no hope for pardoning and release of Eynulla Fatullayev.

It should be noted that the court sentenced Fatullayev to 8.5 years in prison under articles 214.1 (threat of terrorism), 283.2.2 (inciting national racial or religious animosity by a person with abuse of powers) and 213.2.2 (tax evasion) of the Criminal Code.

The Baku Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the court of grave crimes, passed against Fatullayev.
