Over a ton of drugs confiscated in Azerbaijan this year

Within the said period 1,081 kilograms of drugs, phychotropic substances and precursors, including 147,861 kilograms of marijuana, 736,842 kilograms of hashish, 139,432 kilograms of opium, 78,491 kilograms of heroine, 1,102 grams of cocaine, 500 grams of acetic anhydride,5,074 grams of methaone and 200 narcotic pills were confiscated from different persons.

1,332 people were detained and brought to responsibility on these facts. The law enforcement bodies again focused on combatting drug trafficking and revealing the sources of their receipt.

Over 359 tons of wild and illegally grown narcotic plants have been detected through the said period.
