Supreme Court dismisses appeal filed against decision on Mirza Sakit

Trial on appeal filed against the decision on Sakit Zahidov (Mirza Sakit), correspondent of "Azadliq" newspaper was held in the Supreme Court.

The judge upheld the decision of the Appeals Court.

Vugar Khasayev, lawyer for Mirza Sakit told the APA that he does not agree to the court's decision and will appeal to the European Court. He said that he sees no need to appeal to higher echelons.

Mirza Sakit faced charges on illegal getting or keeping drugs and psychotropic agents and sentenced to three-year imprisonment. Appeals Court dismissed his appeal and upheld the decision of the court of first instance.
