The protesters gathering outside a Cultural House at about 12:00 demanded returning the lands of the settlement and release resident Haji Mehdi Shamil, who was arrested two days ago. Police officers dispersed the protesters.
Imprisoned Shamil's brother Kamran Shamil told that two protesters were injured during the police's interference.
"The police tried to detain the action participants but the elderly prevented. However, rights defender Haji Ilgar Ibrahimoglu was detained and released then. Police posts have been established around the settlement. We’ll continue protesting."
Zabrat residents were dissatisfied when the lands belonging to Zabrat were given to Absheron executive power from Sabunchu executive power. And Absheron EP gave these lands to physical person, who sells the lands to others for expensive cost.
Dissatisfied Zabrat residents gathered around the EP the day before yesterday. After that activist Haji Mehdi Shamil was detained for two month-term facing the charge of hooliganism. He is held in jail in Shuvelan, APA reports.
