The Minister said that teachers were last attested in 1994, APA reported.
"12 years have passed since that. I admit that teachers' salaries should be raised," the Minister said. Mr. Mardanov noted that the Ministry was going to reach solution of this problem.
He also said that structural reforms would be carried out in higher schools.
"We have agreed with rectors of all higher schools and prepared a decision. The decision was submitted to the Justice Ministry for registration," the Minister reported.
Mardanov said that the decision envisaged reducing hours of four-year schooling in higher schools, and subjects that have nothing to do with majors would not be taught compulsorily. The number of exams will also be reduced as a result.
