U.S. humanitarian project rebuilds drinking water system at Sabirabad Tent Camp

Counterpart International's Community and Humanitarian Assistance Program (CHAP) will organize opening ceremony of the reconstructed Galagayin Tent Camp Drinking Water Supply in Sabirabad region of Azerbaijan, a project funded by the U.S. Department of State today March 29, the US Embassy announced.

As Trend reports, the project reconstructed the drinking water system in the Sabirabad Galagayin Tent Camp and improved the quality of the drinking water for over 10,000 people.

Three concrete sedimentation tanks were covered and a roof water drainage system was constructed. This project has also reduced the risk of infection through the water supply.

Since 1997, this U.S.-funded program has delivered to Azerbaijan 360 containers of humanitarian assistances valued at $43 million to IDPs and refugees, elderly people, disabled, large families and orphans.
