2.6 bn AZM financial violations committed by municipalities in 2005

"2.6bn AZM financial violations were revealed in the municipalities in 2005," said Vilayat Zahidov, the Deputy Minister of Justice, at the meeting of the Milli Majlis. He was delivering an annual report on administrative control over the activities of the municipalities.

The financial violations comprised 762m AZM in the Imishli municipality and 275m AZM in Sarkhanly municipality, Imishli region, 210m AZM in Kursangi municipality, Salyan region, 173m AZM in Shenlik municipality, Aghjabadi region, 51m AZM in Ashaghy Garamanly municipality, Neftchala region.

Criminal cases were filed on the materials, sent to the Prosecutor Office in this regard. Soma cases are under investigation, other - under consideration of courts.

Violations include non-drawing up local budget, bankruptcy of financial funds of the municipalities, governance of municipal lands and spending of funds, as well as committing the acts contradicting the law, Trend reports.
