According to the deputy head of the AZAL State Concern, Arif Mammadov the aircraft has been filled up with fuel at the Yerevan airport "Zvartnotz", however, relevant norms have not been obeyed, particularly the jet's tanks were not filled up equally.
The jet's pilots tried to solve the problem in the air, but it only worsened since the difference in the tanks’ fuel quantity grew and the threat of crash became more and more significant," said Mammadov.
That is why a captain of the aircraft inquired the Baku airport being 200 km away from it for a permission to land. "The problem has been eliminated and the aircraft has been fuelled up to 500 litres and left the airport at 14:15 p.m.," Mammadov summarized.
