Armenian opposition seeks fair elections

26 November 2011 [13:34] - TODAY.AZ
In case ruling coalition member Prosperous Armenia Party wants to struggle for holding fair elections, off-parliamentary oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) may discuss the possible cooperation, ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan stated at the rally in Yerevan downtown on Friday, NEWS.am reported.

He stressed that this viewpoint is not agreed with the Congress and he expresses his personal viewpoint. "In order to avoid further speculations, I would like to say that it is not an offer for cooperation with the party, but simply a political analysis," Ter-Petrosyan stated.

It is too early to offer something, as disputes within political coalition may go far away. However, if Prosperous Armenia will struggle for holding fair elections, ANC should seriously be ready to discuss the possibility of the cooperation. ANC leader said.

The cooperation may have various forms, except single list in the elections. I believe that it may change radically the situation of political powers and assist in restoring constitutional order, running reforms necessary for the society and expand opportunities for the opposition, Ter-Petrosyan added.
