Turkish armed forces kill 32 PKK militants

At least 50 bodies were found in the city of Ercis Sunday after a powerful earthquake rocked eastern Turkey, broadcaster CNN-Turk reported.

More than 100 people were injured in Ercis, where dozens of buildings collapsed. Ercis was said to be the worst-hit city, according to the report.

About 32 militants were killed during the operation between Turkish Armed Forces and Kurdish separatists in the province of Hakkari, Sabah newspaper said.

According to the information, the operation is still underway. The number of neutralized terrorists is expected to increase.

Turkey resumed attacks on the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) after militants' attack in south-eastern Turkey on the evening of August 17, in which nine servicemen were killed.
