Initiatives launched to build Turkey's first finance center

Environment & Urbanization Ministry has launched initiatives to establish the first finance center of Turkey in Atasehir district of Istanbul city.

The center, which will be set up on an area of 177 hectares, will be larger than the finance centers in New York, London, Dubai and Hong Kong.

Turkish and foreign finance institutions will take place in the center.

The planning activities for the center have started with participation of Ziraat Bankasi, Vakiflar Bankasi, Halk Bankasi, Capital Market Board (SPK) and Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), and under the coordination of Environment & Urbanization Ministry.

Activities have began to prepare master plan, urban design projects and housing plan of the area in order to solve infrastructure problems before the center is established. These activities will last for six months, and then a tender will be held, and the construction will begin.

There will also be art and entertainment centers, hotels and coffee houses in the finance center to keep it alive for 24 hours.

Atasehir district takes place in Asian side of Istanbul.
