An earthquake with magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale occurred near Tbilisi today, the seismological monitoring service said. The earthquake occurred between Norio and Martkopi villages at 11:29 a.m., Tbilisi time.
According to seismologists, tremors were barely felt. No destruction or casualties were reported.
The intensity of tremors increased in recent days in eastern Georgia, in particular, near Tbilisi .
A strong 5.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded in western Georgia in August.
