Turkish Central Bank keeps interest rates unchanged

Turkish Central Bank left the overnight borrowing rate unchanged at 5 percent and lending rate at 9 percent on Tuesday.

After a meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee, the bank said in a statement on Tuesday that the slow down in loans and domestic demand, and fluctuations in foreign currency have contributed to balancing domestic and overseas demands.

Within this frame, the bank said, we expect progress in the current accounts balance.
