The Pardon Commission under the President of Georgia made recommendations for early release of about 100 prisoners.
According to the commission members, the cases of about 230 prisoners were considered, but the recommendations were given for about 100 prisoners, including 10 women and several minors. When making the decision, the commission took into account such factors as the degree of offense, date of completion of sentence, the recommendations of the administration of penal institutions.
A list of recommended prisoners will be submitted to the President of Georgia, who will issue a relevant order on Aug. 28.
