Tehran Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi said Sunday perpetrator behind the assassination of Iranian scientist would be on trial Tuesday, ISNA reported.
He also said the case of 15 suspects linked to Israel spying network would be sent to the court within next ten days.
"The agent behind the assassination of Masoud Alimohammadi, Iranian physicist, will be tried on August 23 in Tehran," Dolatabadi said in a press conference.
He continued, "the key suspect of the case is named Ali Jamli Fashi who has been arrested immediately after the terror attack and Iranian police carried out detailed investigation on him."
The Prosecutor General went on to say, "the suspect faces four charges the most important of which is Waging War against God (Moharebeh) through assassination."
Dolatabadi noted, "the suspect has been trained during his trips to Israel and taking part in training classes sponsored by Mossad and he has also received 120,000 dollar as he confessed.
He added, "the suspect has once taken the motorcycle to the site of the terror attack, but failed to carry out the murder due to the improper situation. But the second time he could carry out the terrorist attack."
Dolatabadi emphasized, "another case will be handed to the court beside the case with at least 15 suspects linked to Israeli spying network. We have gone through detailed investigations regarding the case and God willing the case will be sent to the court within next ten days."
He continued, "the suspects are all deceived, some of whom have been trained and some others were involved in the incident by others."
Masoud Alimohammadi was an Iranian physics who was assassinated on the morning of 12 January 2010 in front of his home in Tehran, while leaving for university.
