Two ships collide in Turkey's Marmara Sea

Two ships collided in Turkey's Marmara Sea on Sunday, causing no severe damage.

A Barbados-flagged container ship, "Parmis", crashed a Maltese-flagged cargo ship, "Apache", off the north of Marmara Island in Marmara Sea.

Captains of the ships informed Turkish Vessel Traffic Services about the crash; and a rescue ship was sent to the scene.

According to the Officials there was not a severe damage to the ships which were headed to a port zone in the northwestern province of Tekirdag.

"Parmis" was on its way to Gemlik port town of Turkey's northwestern province of Bursa from Egypt, while "Apache" was on its way from Italy for Russia.
