EU holds maritime safety training in Georgia

Two-day maritime safety training has started in Batumi. The EU representative Capt. Bertrand Aper gave recommendations to training participants.

According to the control department head Teimuraz Gograchadze, the Georgian side has developed a plan of port security, but it is not public. But an international representative requires making the plan public to secure the approval of safe sea principle.

The foreign expert advises the training participants to protect life safety at sea in accordance with international convention.

The training takes place at the initiative of the Maritime Transport Agency and is funded by the EU.
