District police chief arrested in Georgia

Employees of the Georgian Interior Ministry’s General Inspection arrested the Shuakhevi District (Ajaria) Police Chief Teimuraz Putkaradze on charges of interest abuse. A policeman used his official position to misappropriate 1,500 lari from fuel sales.

The Georgian Interior Ministry’s General Inspection is conducting the investigation. Putkaradze may face seven years of imprisonment if found guilty.
